2020 Campaign Launch

Today it became truly real with the launch of my campaign website. I’m running for re-election in Dartmouth Centre.

We’ve done a lot together over the last four years. We daylighted half the Sawmill River, brought 15 minute ferry service to Downtown Dartmouth, renovated the Sportsplex, redesigned several of our streets, brought certainty to development with the Centre Plan, launched participatory budgeting, initiated action to protect our lakes, and so much more. It has been a busy four years and throughout it all I did my best to keep you informed about whatever was happening in Dartmouth Centre and at Council. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved together.

The work of building a better, stronger community is never done. Opportunities and challenges lay ahead. COVID-19 and the existential threat of climate change looms large. Over the next four years, we’re going to have to be clear about our priorities. I believe we can continue to grow our community and make Dartmouth an even more amazing place to live, work, and play. Finishing the Sawmill River project, turning study into meaningful action to protect our lakes, doing our part to avert climate change, providing everyone with more choice in how we move around, launching HRM’s affordable housing fund, and more. I invite you to take a look at my complete platform. Let me know what you think, and share it with your friends!

No one arrives in elected office alone. It takes the collective work of many. I need your support. Please consider taking a lawn sign and volunteering on my campaign. Many hands make light work! If you’re able, please also consider making a donation. It costs thousands of dollars to get information to every door and those costs will be higher this year due to COVID-19. I’m estimating I need to raise $10,000 to cover my campaign’s costs. Anything you can donate will help me reach other voters.

Thank you for your trust. It has been a privilege to work for you for the last four years and I hope I can count on your support to make the next four years just as productive.

All the best,
Sam
